NOVEMBER NEWS

Hello Everyone.

Fall is a great time of year. The weather is cooling down and the holidays are officially here. These last few months of the year bring on a sense of gratitude for most of us. It is a time to reflect on what this year has been like.

This month’s newsletter will cover a lot of information. Please take a few moments and read it as I am experimenting with the layout and the information that is included.

We had a good belt test this past weekend and October gave us 15 new members that we are glad to have as new students in our Kenpo family.

Our LifeSkillz word for this month is SELF-CONFIDENCE.

Here at Texas Storm Kenpo Karate, We believe that in order to build self-confidence, you need to give some responsibility. That is why we require students to learn to put on their uniform top and belt without their parents help.

Our studio is a great place for kids martial arts classes, as noted by Nextdoor Neighborhood.

During the month of November we have camps, holidays, studio closings, and many students testing. We plan to be busy this season.

In addition, we will be having a BLACK NOVEMBER SALE throughout the month. Prepare to save on martial arts gifts for the holidays.

Welcome New TSK Students

When you start new challenges, things can seem quite overwhelming at first, especially if you are a child.

We try to assign a “buddy” to new students for the first few classes. This serves several purposes.

It allows new children to make a couple of new friends in our studio right from the beginning. The “buddy” will help a new student learn some of the basic rules of our studio.

New students gain a sense of belonging quickly when their peers guide them and train right next to them.

We want to welcome some of our newest students here at Texas Storm Kenpo Karate.

Community Showcase

We have been a proud member of the North Richland Hills area community for more than two decades and we wish to encourage all of our families to support local small businesses just like ours.

Each month we will offer to advertise one local small business in our newsletter at no charge.

October Test Promotions

Texas Storm Kenpo wishes congratulations to students who participated in our October belt test and have been promoted in rank.

Testing is an important part of measuring advancement here at our studio. It allows students to see improvement in their knowledge and physical skills.

We try to give about a month’s notice we think a student will be ready for testing

UPCOMING NOVEMBER TESTING

Our staff normally conducts our monthly belt test and promotions on the last Saturday of each month. We often have to make changes to our testing dates during the end of year holiday scheduling.

During this month our test will be on the last Saturday, as usual, but or December test date will not be on the last week of the year.

We encourage everyone to come and witness our belt tests and help us celebrate the accomplishments of our wonderful students.

Here is a list of students who we believe can be ready for our November testing event. This list may grow or shrink as we get closer to test date.

We all understand the importance of COMMUNICATION. Here at Texas Storm Kenpo Karate, we do everything we can to effectively communicate with out students and their parents.

We make announcements during classes, we post in our private members’ only Facebook group, we put important dates on the calendar in the studio, we send emails, text messages, and now offer a monthly news letter and STILL we have parents who do not stay informed as to important things happening in our school.

We have paid for the development of an app that you can download and have information about our events and offers at you fingertips.

Please take the time to go to your app store and download the “Spark Member” app. enter you email address and hit forgot password and it will give you a temporary password. After that, when it asks for our location ID, enter 1206 and you should be all set.

Participate in Our Review Contest for a Chance to Win!

During the month of November, we will be conducting a Review contest.

It is often said, “The best compliment is a referral”.

We believe that a 5-star Google review is even better.

If you love being a member of our Kenpo family, please click the graphic on the right and write us a GREAT Google review.

Everyone who writes us a 5-star review will have their name included in a LIVE Drawing for a $50 gift card, just in time for the holiday.

On December 1st during an evening class, we will do the drawing during a Facebook LIVE event.

In addition to everything else going on this month, we are also having a referral contest.

To participate, simply provide us with a friend or family member’s name and email.

Our November Life Skillz

At Texas Storm Kenpo Karate we use martial arts as a platform to teach and enhance more than 18 important life skills.

Each month we use a specific life skill and focus on that life skill during class for the entire month.

The life skill for this month is SELF-CONFIDENCE.

Self-confidence is a cornerstone of a healthy, self-positive mindset.

We define self-confidence as realistically believing in oneself.

In order to develop self-confidence in a child, we have learned the importance of giving them age-appropriate responsibility. Learning to accomplish tasks that the child believed was not possible before, builds a great amount of confidence. The more a child learns to do, the more confident they become in their abilities.

CAMPS DAYS & HOLIDAYS

NOVEMBER CAMP DAYS

We will be hosting a Fall Mini-Camp on November 21,22,23.

The cost of the 3 day camp is $99.
Participants will need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and a book.

More information will be posted later this week.
