The Power of Consistency

It’s time again for Straight Talk with Bill.

Today we’ll be talking about “The Power of Consistency”.

How are you? Hi. I am Bill with Texas Storm Kenpo, here in sunny Fort Worth Texas.

Again, we are talking about the POWER of Consistency.

Consistency basically means performing certain behaviors on a regular basis without wavering.

To quote the site,” If you can learn to do something consistently, you’ll tap into a much greater superpower than the habit itself: the belief that you’re completely capable of changing your behavior.”

You see, that is part of the “power”. Gaining the belief that you’re completely capable of changing your own behaviors.

If you understand you can CHANGE your behaviors, then you have to realize you are IN CONTROL of your behaviors.

We know, as people what we SHOULD be doing, but human nature does not always guide us in the direction we SHOULD be moving in.  Instead, we are often led astray by the newest shiny object or what we feel is the “flavor of the week”.

Developing behaviors that are congruent with WHAT you should be doing, will in time, allow you to become the person you know you can be.

The habits you should build, have to be aligned with your core values and your most powerful beliefs to truly become consistent behaviors.

If you agree with my last statement, shoot me a thumbs up or some love.

The POWER that your regular consistent thoughts and actions can have on the world around you, is amazing. Think about this. If your family, friends, co-workers and your acquaintances all see the same person, all the time, then your behaviors are consistent.

But if at home, or at a business function, you act completely different you are being inconsistent. Incongruent behaviors will soon or later clash together. That’s when others say, “I never would have thought…” or “I never expected him to behave that way..?

Because the behavior displayed in the moment was not in line with who they thought you were.

Build powerful consistent habits that are in line with what you know you should do and you WILL become the best version of yourself.

I like the saying…

“If you want to change your life, start by changing your behavior, and make the new behavior something you follow through on consistently.”

I want to leave you with this thought…

Emerson wrote, “Our actions speak so loudly, others can’t hear what we say.”
